I turned on my AN1x last night and for some reason all the D and Ab keys wouldn't sound. Eventually I whacked the thing around and kept hitting the keys hard and they came back. I'm thinking there's some chip or connection that's loose inside the AN1x that's causing this. Does anyone know where I can find it? Thanks.

You need to disable the Punk setting. Otherwise, it won't play without slapping it around with extreme vibration. Lots of screaming in the microphone helps. =:+/~ *sorry* couldn't resist .... or, you could take off the back and make sure all chips and connectors are making good contact. There's no specific place to look. Just re-seat all of them to be safe. Corrosion is a common malady. *Ed Edwards* ><> <>< <>< ><> http://www.ezekielswheel.com http://www.untiedmusic.com/ezekiel http://mysite.verizon.net/vze29bq6 Silent Android wrote:

Tried to remote control the synth via midi, might be only the keyboard connection, since everything else is DSP based, so other than on old analog synths, that have seperate chips/circuits for every voice, soundgeneration on DSP based synths hardly fails for only some keys... Who said what - why where were you when this thread appeared? Are you the original author, Summa or another whose arphoured entitlement sent the aouphier's appliances' to distraced curved tracings lacking previously colored attractiveness? *Ed Edwards* ><> <>< <>< ><> http://www.ezekielswheel.com http://www.untiedmusic.com/ezekiel http://mysite.verizon.net/vze29bq6 Summa wrote:

Nope I'm not the original author of that thread, but my typo "tried = try" might let you think otherwise ... so my advice was to try another keyboard to remote control the synth via midi, to check if it's a keyboard problem. I wasn't refering to your answer... Sorry, I don't completely understand the last part of your sentence, probably since english isn't my native language, but I sure wanted to help... ...Summa -- CZ/VZ mailing list : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CZsynth FMHeaven mailing list : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fmheaven/ FS1R mailing list : http://www.ampfea.org/mailman/listinfo/fss-list Vokator mailing list : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vokator Wellenform Chat So and Do 22.00 CET: http://chat.moogulator.com/

The same trouble has been known to affect the Ribbon Controler too. Good luck. Jon

Thanks, but the ribbon cable works fine. I found the cuprit though. I had the bottom off and held down a dead note on a sustaining patch. When I wiggled the keyboard ribbon connector header on to the small keyboard control board (the small 3x4" circuit board next to the mainboard)the note came back. It appears that the solder joints to one of the connectors header is loose; I can wiggle it more freely than the other one. Oh well, as I type this I have a solder iron heating up! :) Thanks all. Today's lesson - engineering terminology. "Selective Vibration Adjustment" -- bang it with your hand on it's side until the problem clears up. Quiz on Friday. *Ed Edwards* ><> <>< <>< ><> http://www.ezekielswheel.com http://www.untiedmusic.com/ezekiel http://mysite.verizon.net/vze29bq6 Silent Android wrote:
