RE: [AN1x] Hello, got it

2005-09-20 by Ed Edwards

Hi Tom, and welcome -

Yep, you got a good one. It really is a great sounding, versatile board.
Take this hint: Most of us on the list are using less than 50% of the original
factory patches. Why? Because a lot of them don't take advantage of the
enormous power.
How to get patches: Go to the Yahoo Files section of the group and learn how to
use the AN1xEdit program.
How to learn to edit or create patches: Remembering the fundamentals of
subtractive synthesis, build your patches where you can see them - inside of
AN1xEdit. Then get advanced by exploring the FM possibilities. Expound on the
sequencer, pound on the arpeggiator, and resound on the Free Envelope Generator.
View a sequence. Learn how it's built by dissecting a good factory patch like
#128. Zen is understanding that the Free Envelope Generator can be mapped to
insane possibilities like the Ring Modulator or LFO speed.
Finally for the PhD level: Master morphing, the Matrix and right hand soloing
with the left on the ribbon, wheels and knobs. Buy a hold pedal and 2 FC7
pedals and map them to usable stuff.

Report back often with your results.
