Hi Frank, > yes, your website with studio pics and crap is cool..like such sites where > musicians describe their setup....BUT...considering your setup and the > descriptions of the songs on your mp3 page , i was quite disappointed from > your sound. (okay , just listening to the 1st song and "patrol" - but after > that i lost the lust (correct for "die lust verlieren"??) hearing other > tunes... I guess there is not much I can do about that. "Patrol" is a very old track that used a much more limited synth selection and was created when I was still quite new to this whole music thing. I appreciate your frankness (I just had to say that! :-) and respect your opinion. I have always created music that I like personally and have never really worried about whether other people liked it or not. > the song "patrol" you title as goa...have you ever heard real high energy > goa or psytrance...?? this track has not 20-30% the energy and feeling... Yes, this track is older and was limited. I would like to think that my skills have improved since then. :-) As far as genre, it is often difficult to find the right genre for music that is not created to fit a particular genre. Here is MP3.com's definition of Goa: - Goa - "A form of trance that favors a more consistent beat and melody throughout its entirety. Sounds like: Spicelab" So, there is no mention of high energy or fast pace, etc. I do agree that I would not consider "Patrol" to be Goa (nor would I consider Spicelab to be Goa), but it seemed to somewhat fit the description that mp3.com provided. I would be very interested to know what genre you would suggest for it. I can always use help with that. > the first song on your page was a little bit better... Well, I'm glad you liked this track more. It is my most recent and uses a better variety of synths. I have had very good response to this track. It seems there are plenty of people that really do like it and other tracks I have done. So, that makes me happy. > perhaps you should concentrate more on building up the single song, instead of > producing that much stuff.... I don't have much interest in going back and reworking my older tracks. I am happy with them. They hopefully show a progression in my music abilities. I am not embarrassed by them in any way. Music is a hobby that I truly enjoy and I'm happy to have an oppurtunity to share with others. I produce about 1 track a month, which keeps me busy since I have a "real" job and other life interests that take much of my time. If you are interested in checking out some of my more popular tracks (you only tried 2 of the 45 available) here are the ones I would suggest: Oasis BeyondTheZone Convoy Outer Limits (you already tried this one) Galaxy > just my opinion....no personal offense or something like that... None taken! I would like to hear some of your music so that I can get an idea of what you think music should sound like. Please let us know where your tracks are posted. I am always interested in hearing other peoples stuff.
