I feel it more along the lines of FM with the ION. Did you note the poly lost when you layered up to 4 deep? I been sticking to 2 deep (at once)as that seemed to work best with my ears. ;-) More than that, I just layer in Sonar. Offset or shift key there. dale admin@... I replicated an An1x cello patch, and with a little "analog drift" and panning, a layer of 4 identical patches actually sound like 4 seperate instruments. Shift one patch up an octave for more of an ensemble effect. More subtle than unison mode. I replicated a few more An1x patches on Ion but gave up; too many differences between the synths.
