RE: EX5R

2004-08-17 by Gene Atkins

Somewhat off topic: I too have an EX5R and love it. I don't use it much
for the AN part, I make do with only the onboard samples, and I never
use it multi-timberally due to DSP limitations, but it still amazes me.
With the FDSP I find it makes sounds like no other synth, almost
organic, and changing with every note. Excellent built-in effects as
well.

I do wish it was easier to edit. Even with Soundiver it's still
frustrating. Still, there's no other synth made that offers as many
different synthesis types in one unit.

I wish Yamaha had followed through and made a newer version with a more
powerful CPU, instead of abandoning it for the strictly sample playback
Motif series.

this is why u need to find asap on ebay a wonderful EX5(r) :-)

50 arp preset and
50 arp programmable ones..

one of the best synth i have ever had the pleasure to handle ..
despite the slow SCSI samples loading time ..
and few minor things ..
unfortunataly the AN part an the EX5 is mono .. so u will need to keep
both as i did ;-)
