IMO, it's entirely unlikely Gary would port AN1xEdit to OS X - for two primary
reasons:

1) The original port of AN1xEdit from Win->Mac by Gary was a 'freebie', .i.e., Gary
produced the Mac version of his own vocation - Yamaha did not commision a Mac
port only the Win version. This was a generous act on Gary's part considering how
many of us have benefited from AN1xEdit.

2) If memory serves, Gary indicated in a thread *many* months ago the compiler he
used for Win->Mac is since discontinued/unsupported so there's no direct route to
convert to OS X. If you search the list archives you'll likely find this thread. And Peter's
point regarding the ownership of the source code is valid too.

Gino, you may want to contact Yamaha Customer Assistance via the Yamaha.com web
site and make your inquirey regarding OS X from there. I don't think it likely a OS X
Editor will issued be for the AN* series as the product line is near the end of it's life
cycle if it's not already considered 'done' at this late date.

It's possible some enterprising developer would make an OS X Ed/Lib for AN1x but
the trend is away from Editor/Librarians :-/ Emagic SoundDiver hasn't yet been
ported to OS X and who knows if it will (SD supports the AN1x.) It's been implied the
major problem is testing (q/a) the individual modules that have been developed for
the many obsolete or discontinued products supported in the legacy version.

The good news is that AN1xEdit will run under Classic in OS X so you can at elast
access your sound library and convert patches to .mid or .syx format as necessary
(obviously there is no hardware support for MIDI I/O under Classic.) There is a generis
SysEx librarian for OS X but I don't recall the name righ off hand. Check the Utilities or
Apps section of OSXAudio.com and it should turn up.

HTH,

Jon
