It might be that the EV5 has the wrong resistance.  The Yamahahaha FS7s I
have don't seem to step when set on volume.  Now on some other settings
there's a lot of stepping, but that's due to the  hyplodipuladed squantum
mechanic synth engine and its personal interpretation of Planck's Constant.
