Peter, I also use Cubase SX with a Midiman 2x2 box. I used to have this problem quite often until I changed my computer from ACPI to a standard computer in device manager. (I'm running XP, btw.) I'd get the Blue Screen of Death indicating that the midiman's driver caused the issue. The problem was that with ACPI (just on certain motherboards, I think?), IRQs were being shared. I've had a lot fewer problems overall since I've done this. I don't have a url with any instructions on hand, but basically wnat you do is replace the driver for the computer object in device manager with a "Standard PC" driver. This means you've gotta manually push the power switch when you shut down, though, and I think it may affect powersaving. As far as the midiman driver, I think it is a little unstable, but the only time I've had issues with it that I can remember since doing this is if I walk away from my machine and leave one of my audio apps that send midi running overnight. Hope this helps, BRiaN P.S. Need to expand my MIDI ports, and I think I'm gonna check out the MOTU stuff next time.
