Speaking for myself, I've not had this problem with the Assign Knobs on my AN1x - which is now 5+ years old. I suspect either 1) you've experienced an inevitable problem with the AN1x resulting from regular wear & tear many of us have yet to encounter - or - 2) the previous owner applied too much force when using the encoders and wore thru them prematurely. It would be interesting to hear from anybody else on the list who might have run into the same situation as you. I've no doubt a certified Yamaha service center can replace the failed encoders on the PCB board. I'd be surprised to find an AN1x covered under warranty at this late date so be prepared to pay for parts & labor - typcial costs of ownership. Hope this helps. Jon
