if you have a midiman usb midi interface an1x edit doesn't work. is that 
what you got?

From my personal experience, this isn't 100% true.  I have a Midiman Midisport 2x2 USB, it seems to work some of the time under Win2K, but fail occasionally.  I've recently been playing around with the setup, and it seems that if I use one part of the interface for input, and the other for output -- ex:  IN A and Out B -- things work very smoothly, all the time (at least, so far).  If I use the same side -- ex: In A and Out A -- An1x will hang on long transmissions like Select All 20-30% of the time.  It would seem that the problem is in the Midiman driver, and not AN1xEdit.  If you have a 2x2 or larger Midiman interface, it's probably worth a try to mix the In and Out sections.  So far, it's worked for me:  I recently did a very heavy AN1x editing session (25+ uploads/downloads) with no failures.
