All right Jim, now you've confused me since I always send stereo to the mix. Some keyboards sense the mono out during power-up and compensate by forcing both channels to the one marked as mono. Some are dynamic and realize that the other channel has been unplugged.. but IIRC this is rare. Usually a mono send is detected on power up.
