On the amp env turn the sustain down to 0 and then turn the decay up until you get enough sound. Try mixing in some noise. try using the band pass filter or the notch filter. Notch tends to get real crazy and distorted, Band pass gets real rubber band funky. High pass is nice for cymbal type sounds. Sometimes a long release is cool for those long booms. The Aphex effect works good on these sounds as does the compressor. Try the ring modulator. Use the echo effect with tons of feedback-turn it up to the 90s! Set up your sequencer or arpegiator to some cool setting like 12ths, quarter eighth and 16th are sooo boring. Distortion is nice. Sync mod is cool. Play around with the free eg and sync it to the arpegiattor for a lot of fun. Yes try fm. Most important, have fun! Rainbow Jimmy http://www.spaceanimals.com http://www.mp3.com/spaceanimals
