I guess you mean here that AN1xEdit is sending patches to the synth? So youy see the small dialog saying sending to synth with the progress bar...but you only get as far as patch 1, then get no response from AN1xEdit?

If so and AN1xEdit hangs, then it would imply the MIDI device driver is never acknowledging data transfers from AN1xEdit (Basically AN1xEdit sends a sysex message and waits for the driver to say it is sent. It then waits 50ms and sends the next packet. If the driver never acknowledges the packet is sent then AN1xEdit may wait forever).

This sounds like a driver problem! Although, I haven't had reports of this from other users. The driver ought to acknowledge the data transmission or report an error. 

My advice is to try an alternate MIDI port driver or check for newer drivers on the web.
