The Andromeda (and some other Alesis synths) have a feature called a tracking generator ro address this issue. It's essentially a line on an X-Y graph showing how values of modulation data from a controller like a knob (input) will be sent (output) to the modulated parameter. This allows you to redefine the input and output relationships of the modulation sources. So you can even draw non-linear curves or specify ranges by engaging this device. If you just wanted a linear relationship you would draw a 45 degree line ascending. This sort of feature would do wonders for the felxiblity of Yamaha's Free EG's as well as the Mod Matrix.
