Well it´s not completely OT, since the EX5 has AN-synthesis...;) > The sampler consists of two parts: recording and playing. Loop Remix is not so important, i remember in the Quick Guide about the EX5 it says that it (the sample-engine) can´t timestretch and pitch-shift, but isn´t that what you can do with ROM-waveforms? > Not just slow, but > *very* slow. Think about 30 minutes to load 64 Mb of data. That´s something all Yamaha-Sampler are known for...even the brandnew A4/5000 are slower than slow. I´ve read a bit in the reviews on Sonicstate and on EX5tech and it seems to me, that it´s an interesting synth with a very powerfull synthesis-engine (combining samples with AWM and AN...yummy, i imagine endless evolving pads), excellent for live-keyboarding, excellent sound for the studio. But the sampler looks only usefull for AWM, and to fly in some Samples, something i also could do with an Audio-track in Logic. I am not sure if this would be a good add to my current setup, but i´ll consider it. Next time i am in my music store i will take a look at it. Thank you so far, for the interesting information. Tom
