It's nice to have your own sounds rather than presets. With any VA synth, this is not as much of an issue because all the knobs and controllers give you a high degree of individual expression. I don't like the presets on the AN1X so I'm in the process of writing over all of them. I'm keeping #33 Wonder and a couple of the special effects but that's it. The presets are nice as a tutorial. See what they set the mod wheel on-see what they use FM for and osc sync etc, then come up with your own sounds that are even better. Terry Lewis one of the best dance producers in the country only uses presets. His theory is professionals are hired to create these sounds and he doesn't have the time to roll his own.
