In troubleshooting this problem I overlooked one obvious startpoint, just basic parameters.
Anyone out there with...
a Win '95 machine using a SB16 or SB PCI 128, using the game port with a cable splitting out to MIDI cables, connected to the AN1x and using An1x to up and download patches willing to go into the "Multimedia", "Gaming options" and "System->devices" sections of the control panel and write out everything that is set up there?
I know it is asking a lot. I was going to avoid more controversy and ask that it email to me personally, but really think it ought to be sent here (If I need clarification I'll take it offline, okay?) ...I mean it is some work and typing and there may well be other folks that would like to keep a copy of a known working setup for MIDI with SB....
In any case, it might help to see the setups...I was thinking like in MIDI setup under "Multimedia" and in whatever is under soundcard settings, and for the gaming options joystick setup.
