errr no, that's not true. I was (and still am- but nothing I can't handle) 
having problems with v1.2 and the synth was out of warranty- a bit of moaning 
and yamaha kindly gave me the update to 4 for free.- To be frank, there isn't 
really much difference- but it is worth getting nether the less.
