You might want to take a look at this site:
http://www.kickme.to/hoovers/

It principally covers the Juno, but also has a page on using a VA to create Hoover.

  Subject: [AN1x] Help required !!

Hi all, somebody please help if you can !!
Just recently joined the group and just recently bought a An1x.
I am just starting to teach myself some synth basics as a
beginner on the an1x. i am in desperate need of a particular
sound to get me started on so i can then edit from there as i dont
seem to be having any joy trying to create it.

"Hoover/s" They are used in uk Hard House which goes back to
the prodigy (charlie sais) days and originally comes from a
standerd sound on the alpha juno 2 (i think ?)
Does anybody have a simmalar sound on one of their sound
sets ?? or can anybody help me in trying to create the sound.
from the orig an1x sound i think that caner may be a good
starting point ! but i really have not got much of a clue when it
  comes to synthisis.

but i'm sure if it can be done then the an1x is the machine to do
it. i have access to a few other synths if my much loved an cant
  help me (supernova/jp8080/nord lead)

any help or suggestions would be very very greatful

  many thanks

  JP
