The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

Hi,

I am new to synths,midi, sequencing etc.  
I have recently purchased an an1x and have a demo version of cubase.
All I want to know is how do I play multiple patches at the same 
time ?  I have a synth sound on midi channel 1 and when I try and do 
a different sound on channel 2  when playing back it only plays back 
the same sounds on whatever patch is being used on the an1x.
Do you have to put the synth in a certain mode to allow more than one 
patch to play at the same time or is it something to do with cubase ?
Any info would be much appreciated.  Thanks
