I think you need to more clearly identify your requirements. For example: do you really need an Audio Inteface with a kerjillion simultaneous inputs (like the MOTU) or would you be better served by using a outboard mixer - such as a Mackie or Behringer - in combination with a less costly 2-In/-2-Out digital audio card and premixing from your subgroups. Also, you make no mention of what audio software you use (or plan to use?) - Logic, Cubase, Performer, Deck, ProTools Free, etc.? There are many support forums for those applications - if you haven't already you should check in with those mailing lists/forums to see what popular hardware solutions work well in combination with each. > > Also, I was wondering if anyone knew about a MOTU 2496 model? Any help or > advice is appreciated. Mac G3, Echo Gina, Mackie 1202, Logic Audio Gold. I use the Mackie for all monitoring (recording and playback) and use the Aux sends to the Gina card for recording tracks down to Logic. Simple and easy - sometimes I forget to flip the monitor switch but that's as tough as it gets ;-) > > Please email me off list to avoid others getting upset with OT, unless you > have something to say that other AN!x users might be interested, in this > subject. > > Thanks! > -Jaish regards, Jon
