Hi Peter, Having just picked up a second-hand K5000S, I must say I'm delighted by it. It was a toss up between the K5000S or the AN1x a couple of years ago, and at the time I went with the AN1x. The AN1x is possibly more versatile, but the K5000S absolutely excels in producing pads. It also has a superb keyboard action, thoughtfully laid out LARGE LCD, and the best styling this side of the... er, AN1x. Nest stop, the FS1r! I'm not really into the weirder kinds of synthesis: for instance, I decided not to buy a K5000S, although I'll probably regret it, and not regret it, for the rest of my life.
