A .syx file is a genereic SysEx (System Exclusive) bulk dump. This can
loaded into your AN1x using a data filer such as a MDF3, a generic
SysEx librarian (such as MIDI OX or Galaxy) and most sw sequencer. Word
to the wise - AN1x SysEx dumps are large by most standards.

Some of the .mid files are sequences and others are patch dumps from
the AN1x (similar to a SysEx dump only stored as a standard MIDI file.)
Their should be accompanying documentation to clarify which files are
which. The AN1x has no facility for storage or playback of a standard
MIDI file aside from the voice data. In other words, you can't use an
AN1x to playback sequences.

If you want to program the AN1x Step Sequencer then you must use either
the front panel knobs (ugh) or AN1xEdit (yea!)

Reggie is up on Cubase - maybe he'll see this post and respond.
Otherwise repost as a seperate question to get his attention ;-)

I'm not up on Mixer Maps but I know they bear a resemblance to layers
in a Logic Environment. I find environments in Logic to be extremely
useful so I imagine others feel the same towards mixer maps.
