Hi Paul, All of the An1x effects are inline inserts (although the Delay and Reverb can be switched to operate either in parallel of series). Hence there is no SEND level....since the entire signal actually goes through the effect unit! As such the RETURN parameter should really be called DRY/WET; since it really controls the proportion of dry (unaffected) versus effected signal being returned. In addition you can choose to bypass each effect (FX BYAPASS). You should note that this is a 'system' parameter so cannot be saved with each patch (it is intended as a quick switch, so you can disable effects whilst experimenting with raw voice parameters). You should be careful when using the MATRIX to control parameters. The matrix is designed for applying real-time performance control to a patch....it is not for setting the default parameters of a patch! As such, the matrix merely maps external controllers to internal parameters. The resultant controller values are added (or multiplied) to the current patch programmed values (i.e. they are applied as offsets). When you save a patch, only the programmed value is saved....not the value plus controller offset! Hence if you have set up a RETURN level and then use the Matrix to apply a controller offset to the RETURN value, you will hear the set value plus the offset. However if you store the patch, you will only store the set value. Consequently on reload the patch will re-use the set value (without the offset). I have these as two assignables all the time but whenever I alter them and save the scene and then the patch, when I reload the patch the send levels are much higher than I programmed. In the programming matrix I can set RETURN levels but not send. What silly little thing am I missing? Cheers, Paul
