I must look more into the Waldorf stuff. They're relatively expensive, but I
know people who've done stringent comparison tests between the WaldorfQ and
Virus, and the Q is technically better soundwise with regards to the way the
DSP constructs waveforms, particularly in the upper frequencies. It was just
the other day I was constructing a patch on my JP-8080 with quite a bit of
low-pass filter whilst playing high up the keyboard. With the gain turned up
to compensate the filter, the digital aliasing noise struck me as quite
obvious where I had never noticed it really before. Worse on some waveforms
than others mind you, and certainy not nearly as apparent once the filter is
lifted and gain brought back down. From what I've heard, the Virus suffers
similarly, despite being a wonderful sounding instrument.

At the moment, I'm desparately trying to tell my self that I don't _need_
the Waves Gold plug-ins bundle...

Hey, did you end up getting your sampler? The E-mu5000Ultra keeps winking at
me, but I've got to stop buying new gear. Maybe a 2nd-hand E6400 would do
the trick...

Hi Phil! Long time no hear...hope you're well.

I managed to steal away from the office early last Friday ;-) and went
by the local Guitar Center (I know, I know...blech!) They had an AN200
on display...
