The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

If you use a phatboy, Mode 5 is most likely to give you results, It uses
CC's 40-52, The uses CC's 41-48 for it's assignable controllers, So by
default you get 8 Controllers.

However, You could use the matrix page in AN-edit to re-map the other
'spare' knobs to whatever function you like.  In fact, you could have
the Phatboy switched to any mode you like and use the Matrix to re-map
ANY knob to ANY available function.
