(Now seriously way Off-Topic...but aint it fun!) :-) Hi Ash, Actually, the "Beta" I was refering to in my light-hearted "Beta vs VHS Debate" was the domestic "Betamax" available during the 1980's, which was technically superior to VHS. Unfortunately, more consumers bought the VHS format and Betamax was forced out of production. The Beta I expect you're referring to is the broadcast quality "Betacam" or "BetacamSP" or "Digital Betacam", which is, as you stated, dramatically better than VHS (and Betamax, for that matter)! Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't misunderstood about an totally off-topic debate that laid to rest around 15 years ago. ;-) Now back to music... Which is better: Cubase or Logic? Roland or Korg? Rock or Dance? Now if everyone liked the same thing, wouldn't the world be a boring place! Phil :-) From: angelphkt@... AHHAHAHHAHAHHA) Now, on to Beta and VHS..... the Beta that he is talking about is for production, not home use....Beta *IS* much better than VHS and is used by most news crews, etc (that arent using DV)....The quality is much better due to the fact that it's much wider than VHS, you can fit more info onto it....it's kinda like the difference between 16mm and 35mm in film... ash Community email addresses: Post message: AN1x-list@onelist.com Subscribe: AN1x-list-subscribe@onelist.com Unsubscribe: AN1x-list-unsubscribe@onelist.com List owner: AN1x-list-owner@onelist.com Shortcut URL to this page: http://www.onelist.com/community/AN1x-list
