Hello,

I'm new at this list and I have my AN1x for 2 years now. I just love it. 
Recently I became interested in D&B and the D&B sounds I got out of my an 
were just amazing.

About the popping sound. This only occurs if you power on the synth when 
it's cold and the two scene lights are on. (scene morphing). I bought my 
an1x from another person, and it had the same problem. I couldn't return it 
to the store so I turned in at the yamaha repair centre (Germany, aachen). 
They repaired the synth at no cost (no waranty needed). The people at the 
repair centre did try to screw me though. They tried to charge me 95$, but I 
said they had to make a phone call to the european HeadQuarters of yamaha, 
and they said the repair was for free :))

So I'd advise you to repair your synth (can't imagine that the popping is 
very healthy for the circuits)
