The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

You might want to spend some time with the demo version of SoundDiver 
from Emagic. Sound Diver is the only 'commercial' app, i.e., not 
freeware - cost money, that I know of which supports Ed/Lib functions 
for the AN1x. I'm uncertain whether it offers the 'compare' function 
that you describe. 

If memory serves, a similar function was provided in Galaxy Librarians 
from Opcode Systems. However, Galaxy was discontinued before Opcode 
provided an AN1x module - and then Gibson discontinued Opcode. Sigh.

There is an Autolink feature between Logic Audio and SoundDiver which 
may accomplish some of what Peter mentions - subscribing to patch names 
in SD from Logic, perhaps even involing edit mode, etc. I've not spent 
enough time with it to honestly say. This also is similar to how Galaxy 
& Vision worked. I'm unaware of any app or VST plug-in that performs a  
similar function for Steinberg apps (Cubase.)
