Hi Bjorn - welcome to the list, Why don't you take some of the 303-type sounds you've already found and experiment with the AN1x FX settings for any of the following Variation effects: AuralExc, Compressr, Wah, Dist, OvrDrive or Amp Sim. Surely one of these will help you get closer to your ideal sound. Don't forget, there is an acceptable level of real time control of the Variation Effects on the AN1x. The VarEF D:W (dry to wet ratio) can be assigned to a real time controller in the Ctrl Matrix - and Vari Param (a Variation Effect modulator) can be set to Common parm 1 or 2. Check the settings of the 303 voices for a good jump off point. Also, download AN1xEdit (if you haven't already) as it makes programming the Step Sequencer & FreeEG much more inviting than the front panel controls. Both the Step Seq and FreeEG go along way to making the 303-type sounds compelling. Sorry, but I don't know the specific tracks you mentioned so I can't be more specific with tips. HTH. But I have not managed to make one special sound I've been searching for several years. Does anyone remember the song "Up To No Good" by Porn Kings or "Overdose" by Snack from 1996? Both these tunes uses a synth lead which sounds like a powerful 303 on overdrive+++. You'll know when you hear them! Is there anyone (if possible on the AN1X) who knows how to make that sound? > > I've already downloaded an amazing patch bank from the lists file area with lots of 303 sounds, but they're not it. > > Sincerely yours, > > Bjorn Standal, Norway > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
