Sound like a MIDI feedback loop

An1x Ptn -> Cubase In -> Thru -> Cubase Out -> An1x -> Retrigger Ptn ->
Cubase In -> etc.....

Make sure that the An1x is not receiving on the same channel as the Ptn is
outputting....or disable thru in Cubase.
