The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

As an encore to the topic of off-topic posts, I'd like to introduce you all
to a general off-topic music mailing list: the Music Bar.

I see many questions like "what does a compressor do?", "what is a
finalizer?" and "what soundcard should I get?". Although this is somewhat
AN1x related - the person in question probably has one - it's basically just
as on-topic as two AN1x owners discussing technical tips on mountaineering.

There is an alternative. Because of the many off-topic posts on the mailing
lists he runs at Teklab (www.teklab.com), the moderator, Jay Vaughan,
created the Music Bar, where all threads that wandered into off-topic land
should go.

It would be a misconception to think that this list is off-topic only. In
fact, there are some very interesting people on that list (including me
:) ). There may be the incidental thread that offers solutions to global
problems like famine and war, but as a general rule it's very readable and
worthwhile. And nothing is off-topic there.
