Hi Ed, I'm livin' in Europe and here's my honest answer: I didn't have to learn accordian.Instead I played home organ as a kid . Actually, I don't know any kid that plays accordian nowadays and I have 3 kids myself (and they have a lot of friends too). If the parents can afford it they let their children learn piano. Maybe in the deep woods of Bavaria, Poland and Transsylvania they can be heard some accordians tortured by kids. ;-) Howie
