Just to add my two cents... I would take the AN1x over a JP8000 any day. Not to say the JP8000 doesn't have its strengths - I just find the AN1x fits my tastes better. Also, I actually prefer the way the knobs are set up on the AN1x in banks. I just helps me organize things in my mind better when going to tweak something. My setup also includes and Nord Modular - which in my opinion is just an unbelievably great synth. And, the AN1x and Nord complement each other nicely.
