Didnt' this thread get a little bigger than the 8 channel you originally asked about, Ash? If you mean the new little silver and black desktop thing... it's excellent for the price (~$120 IIRC). It's got panning, an aux bus and at least 2 XLR connectors. A guy in my band just picked one up and it's great.
