However removing the back-up battery erases the patch memory and of course all your patches. Then you have the choice :
- do it the right tech way, save your patches somewhere on your computer, turn off the power, open the bottom of the case and replace the dead battery
- or the "kamikaze way" by letting the power ON (yes...), removing the bottom of the case and now the battery. It prevents the patch memory being wiped out, because it is still supplied normally, but it can be hazardous. Not for you, you'll find only low DC voltages inside your synth (i.e. 5 V) but for all the electronic gear inside. Avoid any kind of short circuit when you replace the battery, either with any tool, screwdriver, knife blade...or with the metallic battery itself.
