If the performance has improved I'm wondering if the reorg that occurred when you moved the files from one hard drive to the other has provided you a temporary solution. But it's a different partition than his boot partition, so fragmentation of the boot partition is not an issue when it comes to recording. The best would be, obviously, to have a separate (internal) drive on a separate controller. - Peter
