Hi Alex,
i never had this kind of problem.
In "poly single" mode you have the full polyphony on the whole keyboard 
and normally you can't miss notes, having 10 fingers as most human 
beings have.
First try to perform a full factory reset . OK, you'll loose the sounds 
you have in your synth, but on another hand factory sounds are service 
proven.
Do you have a "battery low" message when you turn your AN1x on?
