And oddly enough, this is the first message I receive since perhaps July.

Anyway, what I was thinking off is really a dedicated programmer. So you 
would indeed have a knob or button for every function. Yes, that's a 
lot, and the cost issue of having a decent front panel produced is 
probably going to be prohibitive. But since I still have some MIDIbox 
PCBs running around doing nothing, I was wondering how feasible such a 
thing would be.

You could even imagine building an entire new case, one of these 
old-fashioned ones from wood, like the Minimoog.
