try EMPTY PTN.mid in the files section. it erases everything in user 
patterns 1-128, leaving you with a basic an200 voice ready to be 
programed. xgworks failed to play EMPTY PTN correctly, but midiox (free 
download from midiox.com) did the trick.

forgive me if you know this, but BEFORE using EMPTY PTN, save your user 
patterns via the bulk send option (pg. 108 in the manual), and make 
sure your an200's memory protect is off (pg. 79 in the manual).
