Re: [AN1x] How can I play samples?

2007-08-28 by Rob Hill

The tiny Yamaha SU10 sampler is made to fit perfectly on the right side of the AN1X in that little ridge.

They come up quite cheaply on ebay from time to time!

Oooh-aggggh! ;-)

the list who can answer the question...

I am in a Wurzels tribute band (for non-Brits or those too cool to remember
the Wurzels - an 'agricultural band'). I want to add animal noises to our
music - a moo-moo here and a woof-woof there... And perhaps tractor noise,
 etc, etc.
The ability to, say, play 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' in dog barks would
(sadly) really add to our live set!

And I want it on stage, so computers are not really an option!

I can find the samples (a great site http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ probably
has everything I want, and more) - but I have no idea how I can 'play' the
sounds. How to asign those sounds to the keys on my synth?

 I play a Roland XP30, a Korg N264 and an X3 and my AN1x (which stays at
home). I doubt if any of these would suffice, but without suggesting
anything too expensive, what should I be looking at?
