Yes, awesome sounds are possible, once you have "understood" (is it 
possible ?) the Yamaha logic . It sounds at least as well as other 
better known instruments like the Nord Lead  or the Access , but .... 
keep cool with their so called "user manual" and the multi-function 
matrix switches. You can do a lot of things with it but it's not so 
obvious as on its competitors with more or less one function = one knob. 
On another hand they have recycled the case and control panel of 
previous simpler instruments to cut down the price, that's the main 
issue with the AN1x.
