Don't be disappointed.... But it is basically an instrument with some control keyboard features, and at least you'll have one hand on the keyboard when the other one is moving some knob, during a solo part for example... What you are looking for is much more like a Doepfer or Bit Stream controller with a lot of knobs, pads and pots and no keys . There are sometimes such unespected things : my Red Sound expander allows me to filter a lot of incoming MIDI data (after touch, velocity, mod wheel ...) except one, "program change" .... This is rather curious on something designed to work together with another synth ! For your problems have you tried to put your AN1X in "local off" mode ? OK, you will loose the AN1X sounds, but maybe control more easily another one ...
