Re: [AN1x] Fried amp?

2006-12-18 by Jeff

Hello !
these cracks and clicks are mostly caused by bad contacts problems on
the line output . First change your cables for new ones or known as good
with any other instrument . If it's the same, try to clean carefully the
internal part of the output jacks of the synth with a contact cleaner
and a cotton tip. Nothing better ?
You'll have to check the solder joints of the jacks on the PCB or ,
better change the output jacks . This issue is very common with electric
guitars or similar instruments where the electronics are only some
passive components : i have 2 at home including an old (1976) one , it's
its second new output jack ...
Another source of troubles can be the volume pot ; clean it inside with
the contact cleaner (little cannisters sold in any electronic hobbyist
shop) .
But if the synth has fallen, check first the cables and jacks .
If you don't feel at home with electronic repairs, any technician or
hobbyist friend could fix it .
Cheers
J.F.
