The AN1X has a certain sound--kind of rude and abrasive. The Andromeda has its own sound--so the two would work well together. Is the Andromeda better than the AN1X? Digital vs analog depends on cost, compromise, and ergonomics. If you're a professional musician snd you grew up playing a mini moog, you know what it is, you expect the knobs in a certain place, and you have a sound you expect--so you buy a mini moog. If your sound is analog--like Depeche Mode--you go with real analog, you get an Andromeda. Real analog is expensive and it's not necessary if all you want is some cool electronic leads. Analog has much better snob factor. From an artist point of view all the knobs, the cool light up mod wheel, and the beautiful wood sides are neat. The AN1X was obviously designed by color blind geeks, there's no other way to explain those horrible browns and greens. If you scratch the paint, she's a beautiful light blue underneath.
