Thanks for your reply, Jon. Sorry if I did not explain myself well. I was trying to be brief. I will now give you a fuller explanation Please forgive the length of this post: The problem is that without an AN1 format file I cannot edit the patches, move them to different locations in the internal board memory or even combine them with my own patches or the excellent patches I have discovered on this forum. Here's why: 1. The only way to edit or move voices around in the internal board memory is using the Expert Editor. This cannot be done from the PLG board's host keyboard. All you can do is load the entire W2b bulk file and save an entire W2B bulk file, which will, of course be unchanged unless edited in some way. 1. The only way to get a voice or group of voices into the Expert Editor is with a AN1 file. It will not load W2B files. The PLG cannot transmit data to the Expert Editor or anything else. It can only receive date transmitted to it by the Expert Editor. Data goes only one way: from Expert Editor to the board. 3. The Regenerator sound library comes only with the W2B files for bulk loading into the board. I was informed that Dave Polich lost his AN1 files when upgrading from OS9 to OSX. Because this particular upgrade caused a fair amount of grief to many of us, I light heartedly referred to it as a "debacle." Sorry if you didn't appreciate the intended humor. End result: I've got some brilliantly programmed board voices in Regenerator that I cannot edit or combine with my own sounds. This frustrates me. so I was seeking advice on this list as to how I could convert the W2B files into AN1 files. You have already save me a large Ebay expenditure by eliminating the idea of using an AN1X to convert the files. Thanks. Your other idea, of loading into the PLG and transmitting to the AN Editor, won't work because PLGs don't transmit data, only receive. Remember, I am talking about the actual board voices that live on the PLG, not the limited tweaks you can do on the host keyboards voices that use the PLG voices. So, is there any way to do this conversion? (Of course, I am a newbie to this stuff. Maybe I have misunderstood something. That is why I am posting on this list.) Thanks for taking the time to respond. K. --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "Jon" <jondl_2000@...> wrote: > > --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "okiikahuna" <okiikahuna@> wrote: > > > > Hi, all.
