Re: [200e] Membership

Re: [200e] Membership

I believe the membership guidelines state the group is limited to 200e users. That may not be the reason those people were rejected, but I certainly appreciate the value of a "users group" as opposed to filtering through the Buchla flame wars that pop up on other forums.

Why is membership to this group often rejected?

I've recently gotten email from a couple people who tell me that their

request to join this group was rejected, with no reason given. It

doesn't strike me that we need to be all that selective. Sure we want

to keep out spammers, but we also want to encourage people to find out

more about the Electric Music Box, don't we?

This is not the first time this has come up. I'm wondering what the

policy is.

As a victim of some of those flames, I agree with the sentiment, but
of the two people who recently wrote me, one has just ordered a large
system, and the other is in the planing stages of a 200e purchase. I
would think that we should find a way to accommodate this class of
people, too.

It's not like there are a lot of places that someone who is interested
in Buchla instruments can turn to for more information.

It will be very informative for me and will let me wait without too much impatience (i expect !)
Lot of reading... at this time i am in October 2006, Post# 485, when 259e was removed !
and i go forward... slowly !
Thanks
Lyonel

Well I'm outta here.....
I have been a member for some time - but don't own - or am thinking of owning a 200e - I joined out of curiosity - so Have your elitist group for yourself.

2009-06-02 by Kai Franz

Hi,

i wonder if someone does have these files?
You cant hear them anymore on lastfm.
Are these files copies from Alessandro talking at the Music Technology Division at Berklee ?

Thanks

Kai
