The 297 is a great phaser. I don't have any standard examples handy i am sorry. But here is a fun example where the 297 is the only source of the sounds: http://www.synthi.se/buchla/Resonance.mp3 It can self oscillate in certain settings and this can be triggered by using a LFO as input. The example is a self playing patch with some pitch/timbre modulation by controlling some of the 297 parameters as well as spatial modulation in the 227e.
