Hi Gang,

Jesus, are you aware that the ring mod is monophonically triggered? The
envelope generator will only fire off when a new key or keys are hit after
all the keys have been let up first. If you try this style of playing and
it still never fires off, than there is a problem with either the circult
that derives this mono trigger, or the envelope generator IC in the ring mod
has failed.

Regarding your earlier question of the heavy action of the CS-80, I, like
you, wish that the 80 had more of a synth action keyboard. I don't think
there's any way to change this, though, as the CS-80 keyboard is very
integrated into the whole system. You would have to come up with some kind
of mechanism that took care of the initial touch and after touch. All I
could think of is recreating the keys of the keyboard out of a lightweight,
non-metallic substance. I can't even imagine how much this would cost.
Sorry for all the bad news!

Regards,

Kyle Jarger
