Hi used to have one too (but my father still has one, so i can use it
anytime ..)
i was lucky enough to play both alternately to compare, and no doubt
that it s really not as good sounding as the CS80
the vco don t have as much brightess, the chorus/ensemble is relly
cheezy (same as the one found on SK series), only one panel to program
sounds for both vco (have to push a button to change which one you
want to edit), keyboards in no way comparable to the one on the 80,
wheels instead of ribbon controller, and many more stuffs
but, BUT, to me, there are some very nice features i d like to find on
the 80, such as autotune (as anybody here, i guess, light weight
("only" 30 kg, or something like that), leds on each voice card, very
handy to service the synth, ring modulator separated for each vco to
me is a great feature, for exemple, you can have a very digital
sounding stuff on vco1 thanks to that ring mod, and play with a more
analog sounding sound with vco 2
but, even if i do say many bad things about that synth, i keep
thinking it s a very good one, even it has many silly limits (i
believe the same about the CS80 , even if it s probably my favorite
polysynth, but, small things such as vco sync, wider lfo depth, 2nd
lfo, and of course, autotune)
don t hesitate to ask me more about it if you want, i could if you re
patient record for you some sounds from the CS70
ah, one more thing, the CS70 is really a reliable synth to me
never had problems with mine, and neither my father with his
i got mine after it stayed for years in a house, unused, plugged it,
play, it was nearly tuned, and after few minutes (and an autotune), it
went perfect
